We’re excited to announce that NCF has received a total of $212,500 through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines) Member Impact Fund, in partnership with member lending institutions. This critical funding includes $205,000 in partnership with Greater Minnesota Housing Fund and $7,500 with Drake Bank, who provided the local match that made these grants possible.
The Member Impact Fund is a matching grant program designed to support affordable housing and community development across the Midwest. It helps nonprofit organizations build capacity, expand their reach, and deliver more for the communities they serve. Read the FHLB Des Moines press release.
“This funding comes at a pivotal moment for NCF,” said Victoria Clark-West, Executive Director of NCF. “We’re scaling up our work to preserve and redevelop existing manufactured home communities, and to launch our New North Neighborhoods initiative — ground-up, new-construction cooperatives that expand resident ownership opportunities. These dollars will strengthen our ability to meet the moment, helping more families secure affordable, energy efficient housing for generations to come. We’re deeply grateful to our partners for believing in our mission and walking alongside us as we grow.”
About the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund
The Member Impact Fund provides up to $3 in matching funds for every $1 donated by a member financial institution, strengthening the capacity of local organizations to address affordable housing, job training, financial literacy, and other community needs. Since its launch in 2023, the program has supported nearly $70 million in grants for community development across 13 states and three U.S. Pacific territories.
“The Member Impact Fund enables our members to directly support local organizations who matter to them, creating value and a profound impact in their own communities,” said Kris Williams, president and CEO of FHLB Des Moines. “The commitment of Greater Minnesota Housing Fund and Drake Bank to champion organizations like NCF inspires us all.”
