Northcountry Cooperative Foundation will be joining the Twin Cities Film Fest at their screening of the award-winning documentary A Decent Home on October 24th. A Decent Home, a feature length documentary film by Sara Terry, addresses urgent issues of class and economic (im)mobility through the lives of manufactured home community residents in Iowa who can’t afford housing anywhere else. The film asks, Who are we becoming as Americans? — as private equity firms and wealthy investors buy up communities, making sky-high returns on their investments while squeezing every last penny out of the manufactured home owners who lack rights and protections under local and state laws, and must pay rent for the land they live on.
Following the screening, NCF’s Executive Director, Victoria Clark-West, will facilitate a 15 minute post discussion in the theater with an audience Q & A. The screening is free for the public to attend and will be held at the Marcus West End Cinema in St. Louis Park. See below for more information.
